"When we first did this, however, we forgot to make the horse stop acting like a horse. Pretty soon there was a rash of server crashes because the horse inside the player was wandering around, picking up the stuff it found inside the player, rifling through the player’s backpack and eating things it thought were edible, and eventually, wandering “off the map” because the player’s internal coordinate system was pretty small, and the edges weren’t impassable." Games programming, folks.

Paul is right. And: I will endeavour to remember his point about holding off talking about jobs (or yourself) as long as possible. I keep working on this stuff, because it's important and makes the world easier, so often. Listening first is always a good start.

This is good, and I will be endeavouring to tidy up my commits in future. I'm good at the "little and often" mantra, less good at leaving all my typos/dodgy moments in.

These were really, really good.

75 minutes of Donald Fagen talks to Warren Bernhardt about composition, voicing, and runs through some Steely Dan and solo stuff. The explanation of the voicing on Peg is worth your time alone. So much in here – and nice filming of _hands_ for once.
-
This is good – although it's _another_ reminder that my notebooks are not as legible as they once were.
-
Unity 2D tutorial that's a) written in text and b) reasonably comprehensive. Certainly reminding me that the thing I had an idea for recently might be entirely possible. Filed for future reference!

"Arrive early. Arrive early? Sounds simple. It is — let me show you.
Arrive so early that a friend will text you, What R U sixty years old? No, you’re not sixty, you’re much older, because the wisdom of the early arrival seems to have eluded even most sixty-year-old travelers."

Very clear explanation of precisely what's going on inside the Bootstrap grid – with diagrams, and also clear explanations of the roles of each styling class. The clarification of push/pull is particularly useful.

"'Second Moon' tracks the cyclical journey of a small fragment of the moon as it circles the Earth, via air freight courier, on a man made commercial orbit." So good.
